In everyday language, families ask for “4D” when they want a moving facial view of the baby. “5D/6D” labels on machines usually describe skin-rendering styles that can look smoother; usefulness still depends on gestation, amniotic fluid and whether baby faces the probe.

Ideal windows are often in the late second to mid third trimester, but every pregnancy differs. If baby is facing the spine, we may suggest a short walk or a return slot rather than forcing a disappointing session.

Clinical measurements and wellbeing checks can be combined when appropriate — ask at booking so the visit is scheduled with enough time.

Evening appointments Monday–Thursday and Saturday (until 9PM) suit working parents. Friday afternoons close at 3PM; Sunday closes 1PM.

Wear a two-piece outfit for easy belly access. Bring your antenatal card. Avoid heavy creams on the abdomen just before the scan.

Ultrasound for pregnancy is widely used in antenatal care when clinically indicated. We still keep sessions purposeful rather than unnecessarily prolonged.

This clinic is not a labour ward. Bleeding, severe pain, fluid leak, or sudden reduced movements with feeling unwell → hospital ED or 999.

For dating or growth-focused medical scans without bonding package expectations, say so — the workflow differs slightly from a dedicated 4D keepsake visit.

Baby position, gestational timing and maternal habitus affect image quality — we are honest when a repeat attempt is wiser than forcing a poor 4D session.
