Typical UTI visit
History of symptoms, fever check, abdominal/flank exam, and urine tests when useful. Antibiotics are chosen when bacterial infection is likely — not every urinary discomfort is a simple cystitis.
Pregnant patients with urinary symptoms should not wait days; tell us if you are pregnant so medicine choices stay appropriate and referral thresholds are lower.
Men with UTI symptoms, children, and anyone with catheter use need careful assessment — recurrent infections deserve a longer plan, not endless short courses alone.
