Dengue Fever — When to Visit the Clinic in Masai

Johor dengue waves mean a fever that lasts into day three with body aches deserves a lower threshold for blood counts — not every fever is dengue, and not every dengue needs hospital on day one. Klinik Muhibbah in Masai assesses walk-in fever patients within hours, with dengue-related blood tests when clinically indicated.

Day-3 fever pathway — what we look for

Persistent fever around day 3–5, severe body aches, headache behind the eyes, rash, vomiting or bleeding gums raise dengue concern. Bring a symptom timeline.

We may order full blood count (platelets/haematocrit) and dengue antigen/serology tests when indicated. Results counselling matters — falling platelets need a clear plan, not panic printouts.

Warning signs — clinic vs 999

Severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, bleeding, cold clammy skin, restlessness, severe drowsiness, or breathlessness: go to hospital ED / call 999 — do not wait in a GP queue.

Stable fever without warning signs during operating hours: walk in or book. Mon–Thu & Sat 9AM–9PM, Fri 9AM–3PM, Sun 9AM–1PM. Not 24 hours.

Hydration advice and work/school MC when clinically justified are common same-visit needs for Masai and Pasir Gudang households.

Children, shift workers and evening fever

Parents from Bandar Seri Alam and Plentong often arrive after school or overtime — evening hours exist for that.

Infants under three months with fever should go to hospital pathways rather than routine GP alone.

Teleconsultation RM30 is not for suspected dengue with warning signs.
