How to Prepare
No fasting is required for blood tumour markers. Schedule the clinical breast examination 1–2 weeks after your period when breast tissue is least tender. Inform the doctor of any family history of breast or ovarian cancer, BRCA gene carrier status if known, any recent breast changes (lump, skin changes, nipple discharge), or previous breast investigations.
