Rabies Vaccine (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) in Johor Bahru
Vaksin Rabies (Profilaksis Pasca-Dedahan)
Klinik Muhibbah provides rabies post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) for patients bitten, scratched, or licked by animals that may carry rabies — including dogs, cats, monkeys, and bats. Rabies is almost universally fatal once symptoms develop, making prompt PEP after exposure critically important. PEP involves wound cleaning, rabies immunoglobulin (RIG) administration if indicated, and a series of rabies vaccine doses. Do not delay — seek treatment immediately after any animal bite that breaks the skin.
What's Included
How to Prepare
Wash the wound thoroughly with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes immediately after the bite — this is the single most effective first aid measure. Come to the clinic immediately. Do not wait. Bring information about the animal (species, vaccination status if known, whether the animal is wild or domestic, and whether it is available for observation).
Duration
30-45 minutes for initial visit; return visits at day 3, 7, 14, and 28
