Medical Certificate (MC) in Johor Bahru

A medical certificate (MC) is a clinical document, not a retail product. At Klinik Muhibbah in Taman Bunga Raya, Masai, an MC is issued only after a registered medical practitioner assesses you — usually in person at the clinic, or via the clinic's teleconsultation pathway when that route is clinically appropriate. Employers and schools across Johor commonly accept clinic MCs for short illness absences. Forging an MC, buying one without assessment, or asking a clinic to invent days of leave is illegal and puts both the patient and the clinic at risk. Bring your MyKad or passport. Describe symptoms honestly: the duration written on the MC reflects clinical judgement for that illness, not a number of days requested at the counter. An MC covers short sickness absence from work or school. A fuller medical report for insurance, a pre-employment fitness letter, or FOMEMA certification is a different document with different examinations and paperwork. Saying "I need an MC" when your HR form asks for fitness-to-work, audiometry or a chest X-ray causes avoidable delays. Bring the form so the correct pathway is chosen on the same visit when possible. Report writing may take longer than a same-day MC. FOMEMA foreign-worker screening is a separate registered pathway — do not confuse it with ordinary sick leave.

Selected non-emergency cases can be assessed by teleconsultation (RM30 via MOVO-X). An online MC is never automatic: the doctor still decides fitness based on history and what can safely be assessed remotely. Chest pain, severe breathlessness, heavy bleeding, suspected fracture, high fever in infants, neurological warning signs, or anyone who looks systemically very unwell belongs in a face-to-face clinic visit or hospital emergency — not a video call. Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours. Registration uses your IC; you will be seen by Dr. Prabagaran Kanapathy (MMC 63651) or Dr. Kirubah Sai Patnaik (MMC 93850) depending on the session. Consultation includes history and examination relevant to your complaint. If an MC is clinically indicated, it is stamped and signed by the registered doctor. There is no separate "MC-only" fee beyond the consultation for a standard sick certificate; specialised insurance or legal reports may involve documentation fees — ask at the desk.
