When Do I Need an OHD Doctor in Johor? — Employer FAQ

A regular GP handles everyday illness, MC, many pre-employment screens that do not require OHD certification, and chronic care. An OHD(NIOSH) doctor is needed when Malaysian occupational health rules require an Occupational Health Doctor’s assessment or signature — for example certain medical surveillance programmes under chemical exposure (USECHH-related pathways), noise/hearing conservation follow-up, and some fitness-to-work or return-to-work certifications your consultant or DOSH pathway specifies.
