Chemical Exposure Medical Surveillance — OHD(NIOSH) Johor

Factories and contractors handling solvents, fumes, dusts or other chemicals hazardous to health need documented medical surveillance — not a casual GP stamp. Klinik Muhibbah provides OHD(NIOSH)-led chemical exposure medical surveillance in Masai for Pasir Gudang, Tanjung Langsat and wider Johor East employers.

What USECHH-style surveillance involves

Under Malaysia’s chemical health framework (commonly discussed as USECHH — Use and Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health), employers must arrange medical surveillance where workers are exposed to scheduled chemicals or processes that require it. An Occupational Health Doctor signs the examinations that an ordinary GP cannot certify.

Dr Prabagaran Kanapathy (M.D UNPAD, MMC 63651, OHD NIOSH) leads this pathway. Profile: Dr Prabagaran OHD NIOSH.

Bring the employer hazard list, SDS sheets if available, previous surveillance results, and the exact form HSE needs signed — scope follows the hazard and the form, not a generic “full body” menu.

On-site tests that support the exam

Clinical examination is paired with in-house laboratory panels, chest X-ray, ECG, and spirometry/audiometry pathways when the exposure profile justifies them — see audiometry & spirometry OHD and occupational health OHD Johor.

Workers with solvent-related cough or irritation can be assessed the same day when stable; acute mass exposure with distress belongs in hospital/999 first — see solvent exposure cough.

We document fitness honestly: fit, fit with restrictions, or not yet fit — rubber stamps help nobody when DOSH or the next audit asks questions.

Employer group bookings and fees

Groups of five or more: call +60 7-251 1162 so X-ray and blood slots are sequenced. WhatsApp +60 17-500 7205 · /book.

Fees depend on the test panel and number of workers — we do not invent package prices online. Ask for an employer quote. The only fixed fee we publish is RM30 teleconsultation (not a substitute for statutory OHD exams).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can any GP sign chemical medical surveillance?

Statutory occupational examinations that require an OHD must be signed by an OHD(NIOSH)-certified doctor — here, Dr Prabagaran.

What should HR send before the visit?

Hazard list / chemicals of concern, worker roster, required forms, and prior results if any.

Do you publish a fixed chemical surveillance package price?

No — call +60 7-251 1162 for an employer quote based on scope and headcount.

Same as FOMEMA?

No. FOMEMA is a separate foreign-worker pathway; chemical surveillance follows occupational exposure rules.
