What USECHH-style surveillance involves
Under Malaysia’s chemical health framework (commonly discussed as USECHH — Use and Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health), employers must arrange medical surveillance where workers are exposed to scheduled chemicals or processes that require it. An Occupational Health Doctor signs the examinations that an ordinary GP cannot certify.
Dr Prabagaran Kanapathy (M.D UNPAD, MMC 63651, OHD NIOSH) leads this pathway. Profile: Dr Prabagaran OHD NIOSH.
Bring the employer hazard list, SDS sheets if available, previous surveillance results, and the exact form HSE needs signed — scope follows the hazard and the form, not a generic “full body” menu.
